Legendary American singer and songwriter, Smokey Robinson, has made a revelation about his past affair with Diana Ross during his first marriage while speaking about maintaining his sexual vitality at the age of 83 in an interview with The Guardian.

Robinson, who was married to his Miracles bandmate, Claudette Rogers, from 1959 to 1986, opened up about his year-long affair with Ross, which took place while he was still married to Rogers. He expressed his admiration for Ross, acknowledging her as one of his closest confidants.

Reflecting on the affair, Robinson described it as a beautiful experience that transpired while they were working together when Ross was an up-and-coming artist. He also recounted how Ross made the decision to end the affair when she realized the depth of Robinson’s love for his wife.

When asked about his present perspective on sexuality at 83, Robinson affirmed his continued vitality and expressed his intention to maintain a youthful attitude towards it, despite his age. He emphasized that although he has gained wisdom over the years, his sexual drive remains unchanged.

In addition to discussing his personal life, Robinson shared his harrowing experience battling Covid-19 in 2021, which left him fearing that he would never sing again. He revealed that he spent 11 days in acute care at a Los Angeles hospital and was left severely weakened by the virus.

Robinson’s first marriage ended in divorce in 1986, after which he married his second wife, Frances Glandney, in 2002. Meanwhile, Ross was married to Robert Ellis Silberstein from 1971 to 1977, and Arne Naess Jr. from 1985 to 2000.
