In the eyes of Manchester United legend Gary Neville, it appears that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta lacks faith in Fabio Vieira.
After making a £34 million move from Porto to Arsenal in the summer of 2022, Vieira has struggled to secure a regular spot in the team under Arteta’s management.
Neville recently commented on this, stating on Sky Sports, “When Arteta sees a £34 million player like Vieira on the bench and doesn’t bring him on, it shows he doesn’t trust that Vieira would improve the existing team.”
He further added, “Mikel must have believed that bringing on Fabio Vieira would weaken the team. Arsenal’s style of play relies heavily on precise passing and exploiting gaps, and they lack full-backs capable of delivering quality crosses or a midfielder who can switch play and provide Kevin De Bruyne-style service.”
