Following her criticism of “Stranger Things” star Noah Schnapp for sharing their DMs in a now-deleted TikTok, Doja Cat faced a significant backlash, leading to a loss of over 200k followers on Instagram.
The dispute between the rapper and Schnapp escalated after the actor publicly disclosed private messages where Doja expressed romantic interest in his co-star Joseph Quinn, who portrays Eddie Munson in the show.
In response, Doja Cat went live on Instagram, criticizing Schnapp’s actions as “borderline snake s–t, that’s like weasel s–t,” before acknowledging his youth and the learning process of making mistakes.
While some fans defended Doja’s reaction, others felt she had crossed a line by confronting the young actor.

Amidst the controversy, Social Blade reported a considerable decline in Doja Cat’s Instagram following, dropping from 24.34 million to 24.14 million, while Schnapp’s following increased from 24.25 million to 25.17 million within the same week.
