The readiness of Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election, to spearhead a coalition of opposition parties against the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in 2027 has been declared.

Atiku made this known in a congratulatory message to PDP governors whose elections were upheld by the Supreme Court on Friday. In a statement from his Media Office in Abuja, he commended the court’s decision, describing it as a victory for constitutional democracy and good news for the people of Bauchi, Plateau, Cross River, and Zamfara states.

Emphasizing the importance of a united opposition force in strengthening democracy in Nigeria, Atiku expressed his preparedness to lead the charge for the good of the country. He further articulated his belief that justice must be acknowledged and applauded whenever it is seen to have been served.

Atiku also noted that the Supreme Court’s judgment ensures the continuation of the high standards of governance established by the PDP in the respective states. He urged the PDP governors of Bauchi, Zamfara, Plateau, and Akwa Ibom to view their victories at the Supreme Court as an opportunity to consolidate and expand the scope of the good governance they have already established.
